All WMMS students follow the policies outlined in the BCPS Student Handbook. (To view this document, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader.)

In addition, we use PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports - to encourage students to follow our Shining Star Code of Conduct, recited together every morning:

I am Safe
I am Tolerant
I will Achieve
I am Responsible
I will Succeed

The staff at Windsor Mill Middle School has high academic and behavioral expectations. We are committed to a school house that is physically and emotionally safe for all of our students. As our students progress through this school they will accept more and more responsibility for their own growth. This is a time to make many wise choices; we expect that while they are at school they will learn to make wise choices in and outside of the classroom. In order to maintain a safe and secure teaching and learning environment, we impose certain demands upon our students. We continuously evaluate student behavior, making decisions as to which behaviors can or should be ignored or tolerated and which call for an intervention.

We require all students to come to school dressed the “Windsor Mill Way,” in WM2 wear. This consists of three button collared shirts and:

  • 6th grade – red shirts and khakis/black pants, capris, shorts or skirts
  • 7th grade – golden yellow and navy blue shirts and khakis/black pants, capris, shorts or skirts
  • 8th grade – white and black shirts and khakis/black pants, capris, shorts or skirts

Character Education is an integral part of our instructional program and all aspects of our school life at Windsor Mill. Good character traits are modeled and taught as an ongoing process throughout our school house. STARbucks are issued to our students who exemplify what Windsor Mill represents each and every day. For more information on character education, see our ASF page.
