It means the student's proficiency level
increased when compared with the prior year.
WMMS uses this year-to-year movement
as one way to understand language growth.
Language development can look different
across each domain. A student may be stronger
in speaking than writing, for example.
Looking at each domain helps teachers
provide more targeted support.
